Because whales deserve a respectful approach

Respectful whale watching from Sitka (Alaska, USA)

We are a global environmental organisation dedicated to protecting cetaceans by listing eco-responsible and respectful whale watching operators.

Increase your chances of spotting cetaceans thanks to non-aggressive approaches by marine biologists and naturalist guides.

Animals that are not stressed are easier to observe, in a calm and respectful environment.

By observing whales and dolphins with operators approved by Shelltone Whale Project, you are helping to protect them at no extra cost to you.

A word from Pierre

This base specialises in small group excursions that allow you to explore the outer coast and Baranof Island like a local. Their boat offers the best platform for whale watching, wildlife, photography and shore excursions in the Sitka area, for those looking for a unique adventure and in-depth local knowledge.

Excursions include many whale and wildlife sightings, as well as plenty of photo opportunities. You'll see whales, otters, sea lions, eagles, seabirds, the occasional Sitka black-tailed deer, brown bears and much more. Whale activity peaks during the herring season in March and April.

The Shelltone Whale Project's cetacean-watching charter is fully respected.
