The Shelltone team's opinion
The guides are highly experienced locals. To avoid disturbing the animals, they sail at moderate speed towards their habitat. You'll be able to observe various species of cetaceans, with humpback whales and porpoises often surfacing just a few meters from the boat. Once close to the whales, we take care not to disturb them with loud noises or sudden movements. Respect for the whales is at the heart of this excursion.
The team is a member of the Icelandic Whale-Watching Association, a very active organization of whale-watching tour operators in Iceland. The code of conduct defines the rules to be observed when sailing close to these giants of the sea.
